5 EASY TIPS TO SET GOALS AND CRUSH THEM

Let's talk about how to set realistic goals, so you can set goals and crush em. Goals are supposed to be the stepping-stones to a happier life, but if we are honest here, I can’t remember the last new year's resolution I made that lasted past March!

The goals we are setting aren’t too big; the problem is we need to change the way we set them up.

1. FIGURE OUT THE PASSION BEHIND YOUR GOAL
You have to be passionate about it and have some meaningful purpose behind it. 💕 Having a goal of losing 30lbs is great, but it’s only short term motivation and we all know how easy it is to lose sight of that goal.

For so long I have fixated on the number on the scale, 🙄 but when I thought about it the deeper reason behind that goal is I want to look and feel like an athlete. The number on the scale doesn't matter to me; I just want to be that chick in the gym ripping out 20 pull ups, lookin’ like a badass.

That goal has so much more meaning to me than being 135lbs.

So whether your goal is to do 20 pull ups, look smokin’ hot in your wedding dress, or run an obstacle race this summer,

you have to have a clear vision of what you’ll look like
what you’ll be able to do
pick out the exact dress you want to be walking down that aisle in
get a very detailed mental picture in your head.
2. MAKE A PHYSICAL VISUAL AND PUT IT EVERYWHERE

Print out a picture 📷 of someone that inspires you, a picture of the wedding dress you want to buy, hang it on your fridge, in your car, your snack drawer at work, so you see it every day.

Start focusing on your daily habits. Are these habits going to help me towards my goal? Your visual will help remind you.

When you're trying to sneak an extra cookie after dinner, your inspiration will be right there staring at you.

3. BUILD UP TO YOUR BIG GOAL
I mean give yourself a break, you aren’t going to fit in your size six wedding dress by next week.

Give yourself realistic, short term, weekly, monthly goals and write them down on a calendar.

For your first week plan out a minimum of 4 days that you will get a work out in ( If you need help I wrote a whole post on how to make your own workout plan, with a free printable workout planner)
and make it your goal to complete it all four workouts, 🏋 set a non- scalable goal to lose one pant size.

4. CLAP FOR YO’ DAMN SELF!
Reward yourself for reaching these milestones. 🤗 It’s not easy, you worked hard, and you deserve to celebrate. Maybe once you drop one pants size, you’ll buy yourself a cute outfit you have been eyeing up.

Now what you don’t want to do is reward yourself with a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks every day after your workout as your reward for making it to the gym, that is a little counterintuitive.

A realistic reward will make you fall in love with the process and become passionate about working hard toward your big goal.

5. HAVE A PLAN IN HAND
If the method of just saying "ok I'm going to lose 30 lbs starting Monday" were effective you would have already crushed it. So, take the extra steps to make a solid plan as to how you will realistically achieve this goal. 💡

I know it might sound silly to hang up your inspiration all over the damn place and plan small milestone rewards, but it works! You can totally make it happen, and I want to help! I have created a five-day workout plan to get you started and moving towards that goal!

What is a strategy you've used that helped you successfully achieve a goal? Or what has been your biggest obstacle that's keeping you from reaching your goal? I want to know, so leave me a comment below and share this article with your frans!
