Changing weather is often accompanied by fever. Most people fall sick as soon as there is even the slightest change in the season. A rise in body temperature, body ache, head pain are some of the common symptoms of fever. And if you don't already know, fever is one of the ways our body fights infection and protects us from other diseases. But nobody likes to spend the entire day on the bed. So, here are some home remedies to get relief from fever.
Take a bath
Taking bath in lukewarm water works brilliantly in bringing the body temperature down. Do not try to bring down your fever by soaking yourself in cool water. By soaking in cold water, your interior actually warms up instead of cooling down.
Sponge bath
In case you do not want to take a bath, then you can get a sponge bath. Sponge high-heat areas like armpits and groin with cool water to reduce your body temperature. You can also place a damp cloth on your forehead and back of your neck.
Drink hot ginger tea
Brewing a cup of hot ginger tea is also effective when you are suffering from fever. To make the tea, add half-teaspoon minced ginger root in 1 cup of boiled water. Strain it and then drink.
